Our incredible Sky Camp is located in front of the impressive mountains Humantay and Salkantay. This campsite allows for the perfect union of sky and earth. It allows you to sleep calmly under a deep, blue sky starred with an exceptional view of the constellations. At the same time, you can enjoy all the comforts of a first-class vacation home.
What is included?
- Pre-departure briefing.
- The information meeting will be held one night before the trip after coordination with your passengers.
- This meeting can be held at your hotels or offices at 5:00 p.m. or in our offices at 6:00 p.m. (Triunfo Street 392, ocina 212, second floor, Inca Art craft center).
- Transport: Cusco-Challacancha, The Hydroelectric Beach Aguas Calientes Ollantaytambo-Cusco.
- Qualified guides: Our guides are fluent in English and Spanish, professionally educated and officially certified (1 guide for groups of 2 to 10 people and 1 guide & 1 assistant for groups of 12 people. Maximum 12 people per group).
- Personal accommodation in private campsites: We have a series of exclusive camps that will offer fascinating experiences to the passengers. All accommodations are double and shared.
- Sky Camp: Transparent domes in Soraypampa Andean Huts: Comfortable facilities in Chaullay.
- Accommodation: In the town of Aguas Calientes.
- Camping equipment: We have tents for the kitchen and dining room, as well as tables, chairs and complete kitchen equipment. All this is transported by horses.
- Entrance ticket to the archaeological complex of MachuPicchu.
- Lodging in the town of Aguas Calientes: Durnig the last night of this walk, the passenger will spend the night in a shared room with private bathroom, hot water, wi-,box breakfast and luggage storage.
- 01 canvas bag: During the briefing we will provide a canvas bag where passengers can carry their personal belongings (including the sleeping bag) up to a maximum weight of 7 kg / 15 lb. Our horses are in charge of the transportation from one camp to another.
- Cargo Mules: Our cargo mules will carry all the camping equipment as well as the personal luggage of the passengers inside the canvas bags.
- Kitchen service: A chef specialized in trekking routes, together with his assistant, will prepare delicious stews of Peruvian cuisine throughout the trip (food buffet).
- Meals: 03 breakfasts, 03 lunches and 03 dinners. Special menus, vegetarian or vegan are available at no extra cost.
- Morning infusion: Every morning, in our camps, passengers will enjoy a hot cup of coca leaf infusion as soon as they wake up.
- Tea time: In our camps we will serve popcorn, cookies, coffee, chocolate, tea, hot water, etc.
- Daily snacks: We will offer snacks in a cloth bag, local fruits, cookies, chocolates, candies, etc.
- 01 cloth bag: We’ll give the passengers a cloth bag to carry their snacks in. This way we will avoid the use of plastic bags that pollute our environment.
- Medical kit: We’ll have a first aid kit. Oxygen balloon.
- Train tickets: From Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo at approximately 4:22 p.m., depending on availability.

Day 1 :
Anta – Mollepata - Challacancha
Today we will begin by picking the passengers up at around 4am from their hotel. We will then drive for 3 hours, passing by Anta and Mollepata, until we get to Challacancha which will be our starting point for the hike. Around 9:30am we will start our excursion towards Soraypampa (3,869masl/12,690fasl), which will take around 3 hours. Once there we will serve you lunch. After this we will walk for 3 hours (5 km/3.1 miles) up to Lake Humantay (4,221masl/13,845 fasl) and after visiting it, we will come back down to our camp at Soraypampa for the night. Highest altitude: 4,221masl/13,845fasl. Food: Lunch and dinner, snacks, and tea time in the afternoon.

Day 2 :
The passengers will get to enjoy their breakfast at 5am to begin our hike up to the highest point of the trek: the Salkantay pass (4,638masl/15,213fasl). This will take around 4 hours at a distance of 7 km (4.34 miles) through the base of the rocky valley and the imposing Salkantay Mountain (6,271masl/20,574fasl). After we will walk for 5km (3.1 miles) downhill along a winding and rocky trail which will take us to the eating spot at Huayracmachay, where lunch will be served. We will then continue our hike in the afternoon, which takes us towards the Amazon jungle where we get to see the “cloud forest”. This stretch is 10km (6.2 miles) and takes around 6 hours. At the end of this challenging trek we will get to our campsite at Chaullay (2,870masl/9,414fasl) to spend the night.

Day 3 :
Chaullay / La Playa - Santa Teresa – Hydroelectric - Aguas Calientes
At 6am we will start our trek for the day for 5 hours through the Santa Teresa valley, towards the small village of La Playa. The passengers will get to observe rivers, waterfalls, wild orchids, coffee plantations, bananas, and avocados. We will also walk through the village of Collpapampa. After having lunch, we will explore the tropical forest for a while and visit an organic coffee farm. Afterwards, we take our local transport to the Hydroelectric train station where the passengers will have 2 options: take the train to Aguas Calientes (not included in the tour, US$33 extra approx.), or walk for 3 hours along the train tracks. Once in Aguas Calientes, the passenger will spend the night in a hostel in a shared room.

Day 4 :
This day starts very early with the intention that passengers enjoy the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu before most other tourists. The checkpoint at the entrance of Machu Picchu is open to visitors from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is important to emphasize that this walk is required and that there is an option to take a bus for an extra US$ 12.00.
Your bilingual guide will take you throughout the vast ruins. Machu Picchu is the best known of the Inca ruins, as it is recognized worldwide, yet it is not mentioned in any of the writings of the Spanish Conquistadors. It is believed to have been constructed around the mid-15th century and was “rediscovered” by American historian Hiram Bingham in 1911. The guided tour of this fascinating place is an awe-inspiring experience. Visit the Main parts of Machu Picchu. After the explanation (about 2 hours) in total you can stay 4 h maxima at Machu Picchu. We are going to visit one of these circuits, Ministry of Culture has introduced fixed circuits from November 2021, depending on which one is available on the purchase dates. The ticket can only be used once to enter. You will then gain access to one of the circuits below. It’s a one way walk, you can’t turn back. Circuit 1 Alto Corto Circuit 2 Alto Largo Circuit 3 Bajo Corto Circuit 4 Bajo Largo Included is the standard ticket, without Huayna or Machu Picchu mountain NOTE: Keep in mind that if you want a Huayna Picchu permit you need to book far in advance (limited seats) and in this circuit you will only see a small part of Machu Picchu (only the lower part). Casa del Guardián (guardian house) can only be visited in circuit with Machu Picchu mountain permit. The sun gate is only accessible to people on the Inca Trail 2 and 4 days. After you are done exploring Machu Picchu you can walk down, or take the bus (NOT included in the price) to Aguas Calientes to have lunch (not included). In the afternoon you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy, from where there will be a transfer to Cusco, where you will arrive late evening after an amazing 4 days!
