This trek is for people who have more time and want to explore a little bit more nature life hiking into the Colca Canyon, here you have the possibility for fishing, enjoying hot springs and going to reach the Huaruro water falls. The trek days go from 4 til l6 hours hiking down, flat and up hill.

This walk will allow you to admire the Colca Canyon in all its splendor, this route is little traveled by tourists and is designed for people who wish to explore the natural life in the Canyon a little more. During the journey you can see the geysers, beautiful waterfalls with successive falls, thermal wells in Llahuar, it is recommended for lovers of good adventure.

Day 1 :

AREQUIPA / COLCA / LLAHUAR Pick up from hotels at 03:00 to 3:30 a.m. Approximately, traveling for 3 hours arriving at the town of Chivay to buy the tourist tickets and have our breakfast. A stop will be made at the Cruz del Cóndor, where we will observe the majestic flight of the Condors and in turn part of the Colca canyon. Then we will go to the Achachihua viewpoint, a place where we can appreciate the wonderful towns that are inside the canyon and part of the route that we will take. The walk begins in descent to the town of Llahuar (walk 4 hours approx.) Where we have lunch, during this walk we will appreciate the landscape and geological formations until we reach the Colca River where we will have the opportunity to pass through some hanging bridges and the wonderful experience to appreciate very closely a small Geyser. We will cross another bridge over the Huaruro river until we reach a beautiful spot where one can enjoy the thermal baths. Later we will be accommodated to our rooms where we will spend the night in the beautiful bungalows of Llahuar. We will have the whole afternoon free, so that we can take small walks around the place and at 7 at night there will be dinner.

Day 2 :

LLAHUAR / FURE / HUARURO FALL After breakfast in Llahuar we will continue with our tour, where we will begin to ascend along the right bank of the Canyon, on the way we will observe an excellent view of the Huaruro River, ecological changes until we reach the old town of Llatica (2438 masl), then we continue to the small town of Fure (2758 masl) to here the walk is approximately 4 hours. After lunch we go to the beautiful Huaruro waterfall with more than 60 meters of fall, as well as the Tocallo river waterfall. After observing these beautiful places we will return to Fure where we will spend the night in comfortable cabins.

Day 3 :

LLAHUAR / SANGALLE (OAISIS) In the morning we will have our breakfast and continue our tour of the Colca Canyon. After approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes of walking we will arrive at Sangalle, better known as the «Oasis of Sangalle». In Sangalle we can rest and enjoy the pools that are at a temperature of 24ºC, in the place we can have lunch, then have the afternoon free so that they can carry out any other activity of their liking or enjoy a well-deserved rest. At nightfall you will enjoy a delicious dinner and rest in the assigned bungalows / cabins.

Day 4 :

SANGALLE / CABANACONDE / AREQUIPA At approximately 04:00 am in the morning we will begin the ascent to Cabanaconde (3 hours and 30min of walking approx.), Where our mobility will wait for us. After having breakfast in this town, we head towards the Chivay district, making small stops at some viewpoints that are on the route, we will stop at «Chacapi» (thermo-medicinal baths at a temperature of 38ºc) where we can enjoy its relaxing waters . (1 hour approx.). We will arrive in Chivay for the corresponding lunch, then we will return to the city of Arequipa, on the way we will stop to observe the "Volcanoes" Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca Hualca, Mismi (source where the Amazon river is born) and the Chila mountain range; later we will see wild vicuñas, alpacas and llamas in the national reserve of salinas and aguada blanca, some birds such as flamingos depending on the season. (17:00 hrs. Approx. Back to Arequipa.). If you want to continue the fourth day from Colca (Chivay) to the city of Puno, instead of continuing to the city of Arequipa, you have 2 options: 1.- By tourist bus in shared service. 2.- In private transport. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

For people who get tired during the walk it is possible to hire mules. The cost is 60.00 soles from Oasis Sangalle to Cabanconde (last day of the trek)
Inside the canyon there are no hotels or lodges. Hostels are very basic. They try to offer you the best they have.
In most towns, lodgings and in the Oasis there is no electricity all night. They have their own solar panel or turbine. Yes, you can charge your batteries, but don't wait for electricity in the bedroom
Some accommodations have a private bathroom, but there are limited rooms with bathroom, if this is very important to you, please let us know months in advance.
Inside the canyon or in Cabanaconde there are no ATMs, please bring cash.
